Movies and a life

It's good to be back

It’s been a whirlwind sort of couple of weeks, but it seems I’m back in my blog seat. It feels a little strange and slightly lumpy but I’m sure I’ll get used to it again. I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen and it’s been distressing. So distressing that sometimes I even used clichés to help me through the crisis. But I’m here now and I wanted to say a massive thanks to those bloggers who supported and helped me thorough the mess, both publically and behind the curtains. It meant a lot to me and kept me sane. Well, as sane as I’m ever going to be.

In an Oscars-style mini-speech, I must extend some gratitude. Thank-you to Jon for sorting things out. A massive thank-you to Jake 5 for your understanding. I’ll be popping over to your new home regularly as I enjoy a drunken rant. Jake's new blog is the very atmospheric: http://www.cinemavoir.com/. A special, artistic thank-you goes to Fog for his colourful banner, poem and general support. A colossal thank-you to everyone who commented, gave me advice and who believed in and fought for my innocence. I couldn’t have done it without any of you. As Gary Glitter said, it’s good to be back.

So the story is that I’m pregnant, with child, have a bun in the oven, procreating, housing a new being. I’m now 31 weeks and all is going well. On a physical level anyway... on an intelligence level, sadly my film taste was affected by the fun and games of the first two trimesters. By accident and sometimes purpose, I watched fluffy, inane crappy crap that I couldn’t admit to seeing here on Orble. I had to think of my reputation you see. I watched films so predictable that I knew the ending from the title without even needing the superfluous synopsis. I won’t name names; I’ll let you imagine the scenes.

But now in my third trimester, my film zest has come back and it’s a relief. It’s just a pity that my short-term memory isn’t that great. Nor is my energy level. Sometimes I need reminding where I am and which film I’m watching, plus I shuffle a lot, but I think that can happen to anyone. The main thing is the zeal and intention are back and I’m grateful. Woo hoo.

It's good to have you back . . .

And don't worry - everyone's entitled to watch fluffy crappy crap from time to time.

Take care of that little bundle.

Stay well

Congrats Tracy, wonderful news (I can't help but wonder how the baby name discussions are going )

I think it's the hormones that make you want to watch bad films - I couldn't handle anything too sad or complicated! And yet all you'll feel like doing for those last few weeks is watching movies. All I can say is, get out to the cinema as much as possible while you still can.... I miss it so much now!

Hi Carmen

How are you? Hope all is going well with you.

Yes, I think it was definitely the hormones making me seek out chirpy, sappy films with little depth. It felt as though it was all my brain could handle. Seeing real life felt a bit risky. Thanks for your advice, I intend on seeing as many films as I can in the next 9 weeks!

And the name discussions...oh gosh...we had to declare a hiatus. We had opinions and names flying everywhere from family and friends. It was exhausting. Plus, my husband and I just can't find one we both love yet but I'm sure we will as we plod along.

Byee!

Yes, I think I will be using the 'Life' part of the title a bit more now as things progress!

Good to see you,

congratulations Tracy! Good to see you still around... does being pregnant make you want to watch more or fewer DVDs?

Thanks very much, Cib. It's good to see you too.

In the beginning I had a few freebie cinema tickets so I was toddling off there a lot more but now I'm moving towards DVDs. That's how I stumbled upon The Waiting Room and realised that that part of my pregnancy had passed...I was ready for some brainwork again. But I think the fluff phase could come back again.. ah well, it's the hormones or the baby or divine intervention or something... it can't be me...

Hi Tracy,

Only got one minute on my way through to another *gig,* but enough to say CONGRATULATIONS on both fronts!!!

I watched fluffy, inane crappy crap that I couldn’t admit to seeing here on Orble.

Hahaha it kinda gets you like that,

It’s just a pity that my short-term memory isn’t that great.

Double hahahaha . . mine never came back, we wont hold it against you if you review the same film twice, honest

You have restored some hope here in orble admin too, it was dwindling.

Truly great to see you back, love the renovations and look orward to the reviews . . .

Hi ya Trace de Face!

ON YAH!!

As for names, well, what better place to canvass ideas than your own little Orble world???
I will wait till you set the baby naming contest up...(prize could be getting a first see of baby photo).

Of course, you will select your own name, but, you could make it look like Orbleans helped, if they pick the name you pick ... ...hehe!

Baby Naming Rules:
one guess for girl, one for boy, per Orbler, per post.
But, Orblers may post as many times as they like.

By this, you would sate the Orbler's ego, while getting lots of votes and traffic on your site!

So, I will start...ahem....SFX: (drum roll)....

FOG for a boy...

Misty for a girl...

TAAA DAAAAAAAHHHHH

cheers and welcome back gurrlish

Hi Jake

Thanks very much, it's great to see you. I've just been over to your new place, I like the decor in there!

Yes, it's the first one, so it's been quite an experience. But of course you would know, seeing as you have two of your own!

I promise to write regularly now

Fogmeister,

How are you?! You are the king of ideas, I definitely think you should be an consultant! I really should have a name comp because at the moment, there's nothing really standing out...well, nothing that we can both agree on. Ah well, I'm sure something will pop up..

Byee!

PS I see the theme in the two names you suggested!

Hi JD

Thanks very much, it's good to see you. How are things in your world? Hope it's all going well.

Yes, the film and pregnancy journey could be interesting...perhaps someone should do a study on it and I could be their main subject.

Tracy I'm so thrilled about the baby. Is it mine?

There is serious overcrowding on this post so I'll be gone, green as ever, and nothing to do with the environment.

Well, Trace, I'm just THAT relieved for you! I would jump for joy like the person in your pic if not for being half dead with tiredness just now.

And what a comeback, I loved that post so much!

Everything just seems right again.

Glad you're back, lovely lady.
