Blogged down
March 14th 2008 21:55
I’ve fallen behind with my blogging duties just lately. The reason why is simple, life. I let my blogging lag happen: I’ve seen films, been motivated, made notes and plans, yet did nothing with those thoughts. They’re still in my, ‘to do’ file. And that file is growing.
Then life produced a gap, an opportunity, so we decided that a holiday could fill it.
We hopped up to a retreat in the Byron Bay hinterland for five days. We existed in a massage-riddled, indulgent-induced, nutritionally-worthwhile, yoga-postured and filmless void for five days.
We learnt of the perils of chemicals, the magnitude of rest, the joy of meditation and relaxation nestled in nature’s generous tranquillity. We learnt how to slow down and stop the watching of time under the umbrella of urgency.
So, does that mean I’m going to give up chocolate now that its low nutritional value has been confirmed? Nope, that will never happen.

Funny about that shot of me from my last visit, I didn't realize they had kept it. Looking good, aren't I?
It's a tuff life you lead Tracy, so long in between breaks, what ? more than two weeks this time was it?
The green eyed monster lurks, say hello to Fergal for me.

It's nice to know my absence was missed.
Yes, you are looking particularly majestic in that pool shot.
Don't let that green-eyed visitor stay too long...

You're so damn handy with that camera! I wish my photos worked out like that! It doesn't matter how beautiful the subject, I still manage to stuff it up.
Hope you had a wonderful time and managed to bring the effects of the yogi and masseuse home with you!

Thank-you for your photographic compliments. It's a new camera and I'm still learning all its millions of features, but it's fun experimenting.
I’m hanging onto that yogic feeling I can tell you

You lucky woman you. Due to financial restraints, I have to eat chocolate every day in lieu of taking a holiday. I envy you, but I'm not jealous of you.
And now I have to go. That block of Cadbury Hazel Nut is just begging me to eat it.

Regardless of my financial situation, I crave chocolate every day...somehow I manage to keep it to a few days a week, justified by doing lots of trotting around with my pooch.
I say, keep on chomping, Ann!!

Pummelled by elephant trunks?! Is that one of those pleasure/pain treatments? Gosh, I honestly can't imagine that but I'm intrigued...

ahhh...so that is why you have been ignoring me...umm...ok cheap trick!..
Anyhoo, you lucky, lucky devil!!! Or angel...why isn't it ever "you lucky angel?"
Anyhoo...I'm soooooo glad (and incredibly jealous!) you have had five blissful days away from the cares and woes of the world.
When I win lotto....I'll send everyone an automated ecard...I'll be too busy being pampered to even bother writing to anyone...
but I'll apologise in advance..."sorry!"!
Actually, maybe I'll hire someone to write them for me? Get some dirt cheap old hack noboby friendless poet, and he can write them for me!
I better not put that job description on "seekdotcom' ..coz they'll end up sending it to me!!
cheers

I think that's great that your writing flows. I think I overthink too much so that by the time I sit down, I've lost my oomph!!
