Eddie Izzard articulates the differences between American and British films. As always he does it with flamboyant zest and contagious humour:

Hi Cheryl

He's a character isn't he?

Some fabulous slap he's got on. I never know what he's waffling about, but the way he talks always cracks me up. I do agree with that nonsensicality of some American flicks that he was describing though. I think British humour is just a closer relative to Aussie humour.

Hi Mich

He's a stylish chap isn't he? I love the bit where he's talking about 'Room with a View with a view and a staircase and a pond', he he.

It's true, it reminds me of that film with Hugh Grant 'The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain'. I never saw it but always thought it was a verbose and long title. Plus if the title was that long and dreary what would the film be like..eek.

Thanks for popping in,

Tracy

HI Cib

That bit is great especially when he offers a cup of tea.

I love the popcorn bit, in some films it does seem inappropriate to eat it..

Thanks for popping in,

Tracy

I have to admit ignorance and say I'd never heard of Izzard but this was hilarious. My hubby will get a kick out of this. Thanks for the video, Tracy!

Hi Aimz

He's better known in England (which makes sense), than here. He's pretty huge there. I think he's brilliant, glad you enjoyed it!

ah he's a classic isn't he? very very true about the popcorn! i love that other clip he does with Vader in the cafeteria too - quite funny how an accent can change a character so much!

Hi Carmen

Yes, he definitely is a classic. Each time someone makes a comment, I watch it again...and laugh again. Clever chap...

Hi Tracy,

I was laughing so hard the dogs actually got off the sofa and came into the study to see if I was alright. Brilliant.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris

What a brilliant way to get dogs moving...through laughter!

Great stuff.

Hi Tracy,

I just got my wife to watch this. I could hear her laughing from three rooms away. Got the dogs off the sofa again too
