The other bits

Love and hands

Yes, I’m still burbling away but this time I decided I should balance my grumblings and tell you the parts of the pregnancy ladder I will never forget:

Seeing those six positive urine tests winking at me – I didn’t believe the first 5.
My husband’s face when I told him – and his eyes.
Our inability to stop smiling - especially hard in the first trimester when you can’t tell anyone, we must’ve looked like a pair of chirpy nutters.
My parents’ faces and exclamations - who cares if the neighbours heard.
The first spouting of my belly – a physical verification it was actually happening.
The first movement – indescribable.
Those unexpected reminders – a kick, a turn, a tidal wave, a football match.
Watching my body doing what it needs to do – all those parts that I thought didn’t do that much, all having a function. Amazing.
My beautiful friends' unending kindness, wisdom, generosity and love – that often seemed to come at those quiet, most-needed patches.
Our family’s kind, generous and loving thoughts and actions – we know we’re fortunate to have them.

All of it.

Tracy, what you're describing is a beautiful thing. All men can do is marvel, admire and speculate about the wonder of it all.

Hello Carmen

How are things with you and your angel? How old is she now? It's good to see you.

Yes, I've been so touched by thoughts by family and friends throughout the last few months.

Thanks for your thoughts, any day now!!

She's nine months old - hard to believe. I know in the early weeks/months when you're sleep deprived, everyone tells you that it's such a brief period and it's over before you know it, and you think "doesn't feel like it" - but then lo and behold, it's over before you know it She's now cruising around the furniture and saying "dad dad" etc, so she's become very entertaining all of a sudden.

Anyway now I'm harping on like a boring mother Things are fine with me - just need to pick up the pace with the blogging before I end up on the inactive blogs list!

Can't wait to hear about your new arrival!

Hello Carmen

She's 9 months already? Gosh...! I know what you mean when you say that the time will pass quickly, as the last trimester has just utterly whizzed past. When I see friends' babies, I'm amazed at how fast they've grown and change from week to week.

It's all amazing isn't it?

Glad all is well with you and I hope you sometimes get a chance to put your feet up!!

Great talking to you,

Tracy

Quiet the journey you are on there Tracy,

One bit of advice, don't watch the French horror film Inside until after delivery...it's very good but i would be afraid of the repercussions.

Glad all is moving beautifully, and you are certainly living a life.

Hi JD

It's great to see you, how are things in the US of A? Hope it's all going well for you.

I've given birth but I still don't think I could see Inside...being the big wimp that I am.

It is most definitely quite a journey, a magical one. Complete with moments of intense delirium and amnesia. But at least I forget what I'm worrying about.
